Handbuch Frieden
(publication in German language only)
The German-language “Handbuch Frieden” aims to give the most comprehensive account to date of the concept of “peace”. Contributions are currently being developed by almost 60 different researchers. As well as studying the etymological history of the word, this anthology will also address a range of political, economic and cultural issues in which maintaining or achieving peace has been a central theme (e.g. peace policy, “peace dividends” or “power of peace”) and also take look at peace in various historical and contemporary contexts (e.g. war and peace, peace and religion, peace and music). A highly skilled range of academics and practitioners have been invited to contribute. The handbook is aimed at a wide audience of specialists, but can also be seen as a manual for both academic and practical peacebuilding training.
