Publications: An Overview
Berghof Conflict Research publishes several series in print and online, both independently and in collaboration with Berghof Peace Support. Several staff members also contribute to relevant book publications, journals and online discussion forums. At the same time, BCR’s publications series offer a platform for publishing selected key contributions to the fields we work on, written by representatives of conflict transformation theory and practice based in Germany and abroad.

Berghof Handbook
Our key publication is the Berghof Handbook for Conflict Transformation. Constantly evolving and developing, this online platform presents cutting-edge knowledge and experience for scholars and practitioners working on transforming violent ethnopolitical conflict.

Since its inception in 1999, the Berghof Handbook is designed to present state-of-the-art knowledge and practice in conflict transformation to an international audience. It has three primary aims: 1) fostering critical discussion both among and between academics and practitioners; 2) bridging the gap between theory and practice in the field of conflict transformation; and 3) including a wide range of voices and perspectives from different regions throughout the world, as well as from multiple disciplines and faculties.
Website content comes in the form of commissioned Articles and a Dialogue Series on key issues.
The Berghof Handbook for Conflict Transformation is published in English. Selected articles also have been translated into seven languages, including: Spanish, Turkish, French, Arabic, Russian, Sinhala and Tamil.
A first print edition was published in 2004, with a second one forthcoming in 2010.
